Web Developer
We are seeking a talented and driven Web Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and updating our company’s website(s) and web applications. You will work closely with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience across all our digital platforms.
Responsibilities
Candidates will take ownership of web planning, development, implementation, sourcing, and maintenance in addition to digital marketing aspect of Bluemarble. Furthremore and more specifically, he or she will
- Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand project goals, and implement design mockups and prototypes.
- Optimize website performance, ensuring fast load times and cross-browser compatibility.
- Implement best practices for web accessibility, usability, and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and compatibility problems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews and maintain clean, well-documented, and maintainable codebase.
- Assist in the maintenance and management of content management systems (CMS) and website hosting environments.
Skills/Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in web development, with a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks/libraries.
- Familiarity with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility techniques.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and tools.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with server-side scripting languages (e.g., PHP, Node.js, Python).
- Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
